The three-day forum will take place at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.
The second edition of the “Forum on Government Action” known in its
French acronym as “SAGO 2013”, begins at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sport
Complex today, August 20, 2013 under the patronage of the Prime
Minister, Head of Government. The forum that ends on August 23, 2013
will hold on the theme, “The action of government at the heart of
emergence.”
Communication
Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary in a press briefing announcing the forum
on August 16, 2013 said it was aimed at, “throwing more light into the
action of public authorities in relation to their prerogative role of promoting all sectors of activity of our country for an emerging
Cameroon as wished by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya.” The
key objectives, the Minister said were: to contribute to the synergy of
actions of public authorities; support a transversal action of
government’s deployment; build the image of the government and that of
the entire country; present, showcase and hail the contents of
government’s accomplishments; plan and showcase all projects contained
in the “Major Accomplishments” agenda of the Head of State; and present
government as a credible institution, constantly listening to all its
partners.
The
General Commissioner of the Forum, Patrice Assiga Eyene, in a press
release gives its detailed programme with focus on key themes to be
discussed. Over 19 ministries are programmed to present papers on the
execution of government policy in their respective domains. The
organizers of SAGO 2013, the Minister of Communication disclosed, are
young Cameroonians, mostly media practitioners, graduates from major
higher institutions of learning of Cameroon and abroad, experts on
organizational communication, public relations, journalism, as well as
