South-South Cooperation: Cameroon, Ghana Seek to Deepen Ties

Image
By Godlove Bainkong, Cameroon Tribune, 25/04/2012 A 13-strong prospection team on Monday April 23 held talks with the Minister of Trade. Until now, trade between Ghana and Cameroon has been at an embryonic stage.   Stakeholders say apart from some technical appliances that have been sold in Ghana from Cameroon (goods not even manufactured in Africa), nothing concrete can be said about trade between the two countries. But the situation might soon change as there are concerted efforts to improve trade. In a working session on Monday April 23 between a 13-strong delegation of visiting Ghanaian wood experts on a prospection mission to Cameroon led by the country’s Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mike Hammah and Cameroon’s Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, it emerged that all is being done to boost inter-state trade and in so doing, socio-economic development of the two countries.

India: SMEs need to unleash the power of e-commerce

However, despite these potential benefits, many small business owners often complain about making little success from this platform. As a result, the distrust feeling appears. Why this happens? I think it's because e-commerce, while removing a good deal of barriers we face in the brick-and-mortar world, does come with a new set of barriers. For example, there are seemingly unlimited customers, but they are chased by seemingly unlimited sellers; you can sell a product very quickly, but customers have to take the purchasing decision without touching or feeling your product; no sales staff is required, but there's no chance of up-selling. So when yo
