The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation

The Royal Academy of Engineering promotes the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation with the aim to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the sub-Saharan Africa.
Considering the importance of engineering as an enabler of improved quality of life and economic development, the Prize encourages engineers from sub-Saharan Africa and from all engineering disciplines affiliated with a university or a research centre to apply their skills to develop solutions to local challenges.

A shortlist of innovative applicants will be selected for a six month period of training and mentorship. After this period they will be invited to an event held in Africa and a winner will be selected to receive 25,000 pounds.
The deadline for applications is midnight GMT on Friday 30th of May 2014.
