Multi-year expert meeting on enterprise development policies and capacity-building in science, technology and innovation (STI) (fourth session)

Leveraging innovation and technology for development: pro-poor entrepreneurship, innovation and technology – particularly for women and the next generation of leaders – and examination of the roles of business linkages and global value chains to support pro-poor measures

The meeting will focus on development policies aimed at actively promoting innovation and technology for pro-poor entrepreneurship and innovation strategies, taking into account the particular characteristics of poor regions and communities, as well as needs of women and youth.
Experts will identify policies and practice aimed at reinforcing entrepreneurship and innovation at all levels.
The meeting will also review the multi-year process and deliberate on the outcomes, taking into consideration UNCTAD intergovernmental activities in 2012, namely the UNCTAD XIII quadrennial Conference and the first post-conference session of the Trade and Development Board and its Commission on Investment and Enterprise.
