Top French Businessman At State House

Mr Guillaume Giscard d’Estaing said he came to strengthen partnerships with Cameroon.
Mr Guillaume Giscard d’Estaing, Chief Executive Officer of a French firm dealing with aeronautics yesterday conferred with the President of the Republic Paul Biya.
After the 30 minute audience which began at 2 pm, the French official insisted on expressing his special gratitude to President Biya who was receiving him for the fourth time. He said he had come to strengthen business partnerships with Cameroon, especially in the area of aeronautics. “We talked on the aviation industry, especially on the Alpha jet and training opportunities that my company would want to offer for your air force mechanics” he told State House correspondents. “We also discussed some other projects linked to Cameroon’s sovereignty in the area of aeronautics,” he noted.
Mr Giscard d’Estaing, 53, has successively been a commander in the French Navy before embracing the private sector where he was head of marketing and sales for Turbomeca (1994), the Director of Turbomeca Ltd in the UK and of Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Limited and Rolls-Royce Snecma Ltd (2000). Between 2004 and 2007, he was Deputy Director for International Affairs for the Safran Group. Since 2007, he has been CEO for SOFEMA.
